Since the time I was a cute little toddler, I have loved playing with glue. Weird, right? Hear me out. This stuff sticks one cool thing to another. You put it on your hands and you get fun, flaky, monster hands. It's ooey and gooey! C'mon people!
Now, they have specialized glue and adhesives for different crafts. I'm gonna let you guys know about some of my favorites and what they are best for.

My personal favorite is Mod Podge. It comes in so many different finishes! It can be found just about anywhere: Wal-Mart, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, you name it. It glues, it seals, it changes peoples' lives. It's suggested that you use one of those sponge-y brushes to give it a smooth finish. You can also use a regular old paintbrush, but note that it will leave slight streak marks when it drys. I prefer to leave the Mod Podged thingie-ma-bobber (which is totally the scientific name, trust me) to dry over night before applying a second layer for a smooth, even coat. |
Next up is another all-purpose glue: Tacky Glue. This is much thicker than Mod Podge, and provides more support for heavier or thicker items. I have used this for attaching faux pearls to felt to make a statement necklace. Works like a charm. It can be difficult to squeeze out of the bottle, so get ready to Hulk Smash it.
For the fast fix, I like to use the OK To Wash-it fabric glue. If you aren't nearby a needle and thread or just really don't feel like stabbing your fingers with the needle, this is a quick and easy way to bond fabrics. I do recommend going back in and actually sewing it after you wash it because multiple washes may reduce the product.
I am a sucker for anything Loctite, so when I had some vinyl that needed fixing, I knew just where to go. My boyfriend has a huge Captain America shield and when a friend asked to borrow it, it was a little worse for wear. Too many battles. After reinforcing the handle and fixing the cracks, it looked good as new! It is flexible, but also sturdy.
Oh look, more Loctite! Surprise, surprise! I am all for regular, old super glue, but I love that this is gel and so much easier to apply. The blue ribs on the side are where you push to get the gel out, which offers amazing control on just how much you release. No more gluing my hands together and my mouth shut! Not again!
So there we are! A whole bunch of sticky, icky stuff. I hope this helps you find which one best suits your project. Let me know if you have tried something amazing that you would like me to list on here as well. I can't wait to see what you guys make.
